QPR THRASH LEEDS TO CONFIRM LEICESTER PROMOTION

Leicester City have been promoted back to the Premier League from the Championship after QPR thrashed second-placed Leeds United 4-0 at Loftus Road.

Ilias Chair broke the deadlock just eight minutes into the game, sending Loftus Road into a frenzy. Soon after, Lucas Andersen capitalised on space in the box to double QPR's lead with 22 minutes on the clock.

Although the visitors showed improvement in the second half, the hosts sealed the win with a header from Lyndon Dykes 17 minutes before the final whistle. Sam Field's close-range effort further solidified the victory for the team from west London.

Leicester City's promotion was confirmed as a result of Leeds' defeat, securing their return to the Premier League with two games remaining.

Ipswich Town, currently in third place and trailing Leicester by a point, will aim to secure promotion with two games in hand over Leeds. They are vying for a spot alongside Leicester in the top flight.

With this triumph, QPR ensured their Championship status for another season, sitting comfortably seven points above the relegation zone.

The Foxes now have the opportunity to claim the Championship title on Monday with a victory against Preston, if third-placed Ipswich fail to defeat Hull City on Saturday.
